Student testimonial: Sumana Aryal

I am Sumana Aryal. I was born in Mayatari-13,Syangja in Nepal on the 13th of January 1991. My father is Kedar Prazad Aryal and he is involved in farmer activities. My mother’s name is Ganga Aryal and she is involved in social activities and taking care of our family. I have two brothers, Dinesh Aryal is the older than me and Dipezh Aryal is my younger brother.

My oldest brother is married to Deepa, she is my sister-in-law but we always call each other ‘didi’. Which means sister in Nepali. My father worked very hard to be able to pay our studies; my two brothers, my sister-in-law as well as myself had the chance to study. I know this was a great opportunity so I took it with both hands. Now, I am 20 years old and I am a student-teacher. This means that I am working fulltime as a teacher in the Fewa Boarding School. But apart from that, I am also a student. I am now in my last year of the Bachelor in Education with English as my major subject. This means that I have to get up every morning at 5 am, go to classes at the university from 6 am until 9 am, then I have to take the bus to the school and teach from 10am until 16h00. I always miss the last hour of classes but I am lucky to have a good friend that takes notes for me, so passing the exam is still possible.

My dream.

My dream is to teach at the university and to help to increase the power of women in schools as well as in the country of Nepal in general, especially in the remote areas.

Interests and hobbies.

My special interest is to teach and work with children. My other interests are visiting new places, collecting new information, photographs and I also like to listen to music.

My university.

Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara

I like the way you are building career. Almost similar to my teaching dreams. The difference is that I am interested in teaching adults and in health disciplines. Currently finalising in BSc. public health at IHSU, kampala, uganda. Here after will go back to my country, South Sudan to contribute in building human resources for health.

    Wishing you bright future.

    Patrick.
